Authentic Relating & Circling

Last updated 2026-10-04 · updated weekly by an automated research job · run #5.

The verdict#

The current state of the art, as of 2026-08-31 (confidence secondary):

The Madison AR/Circling scene centers on Main Street Yoga Center, which hosts a weekly Authentic Relating Games Night and offers Circling & Meditation. The Chicago scene shows greater density with multiple organizers and dedicated community groups.

What triggered or contributed to this call:

• 2026-08-31 — Weekly Authentic Relating Games Night starts at Main Street Yoga Center in Madison. (launch, secondary)
• 2026-08-31 — Facebook group 'Authentic Chicago' serves the local Authentic Relating and Circling community. (discovery, vendor-claim)

Contenders:

• Main Street Yoga Center — Only currently verified recurring AR/Circling event in Madison.
• Authentic Chicago — Central hub for the larger and more established Chicago AR/Circling community.
• Tribe of One Love — Active weekly conscious community gathering in a neighboring major Midwestern city.

What this is, and how it works#

This page is generated, not written. A scheduled job runs weekly on a machine in a homelab. Each run it:

1. Searches the open web for both the products already tracked here and for category-level terms designed to turn up ones we've never heard of.
2. Feeds those results to a language model along with everything already on this page, and asks it what is genuinely new. Finding nothing is an acceptable answer, and most runs should find little.
3. Writes the result into a versioned JSON dataset (data/live-research/ar-circling.json) and commits it. This page is re-rendered from that file.

So: a machine wrote the prose here. Every changelog entry carries at least one source link, and every item and entry carries a confidence label:

• primary-source — vendor documentation, a published paper, or a regulator.
• secondary — reputable press.
• vendor-claim — marketing or an unreplicated vendor statement.
• unverified — a single low-quality source, usually auto-discovered.

Any label weaker than primary-source is printed beside the finding, so an unflagged row is a primary source. A tracker that hides its own uncertainty is worse than no tracker.

What this is not. Not medical advice. Not a review site — nothing here has been tested in our hands. No affiliate relationships, no sponsored placements, nothing bought. Vendor claims are attributed to the vendor rather than restated as findings. Where a price, a date, or a regulatory status is unknown, it is left blank instead of guessed.

What's new#

6 developments in the last 30 days, newest first.

The last 30 days#

The last month confirmed the absence of a local scene in Milwaukee, with searches returning only unrelated organizations and no active Authentic Relating or Circling groups. A similar check in Madison ruled out the similarly named 'Madison CIRCLE' as a secular homeschool co-op, not a practice group.

Two new items were discovered, though both are unverified vendor claims. In Minneapolis, the 'Tribe of One Love' Meetup hosts weekly gatherings for authentic conversation. In Madison, an event called 'OPEN: A Guided Experience In Authentic Relating' was listed for late September. The broader regional picture shows activity in Minneapolis and Chicago, while Wisconsin itself remains quiet outside of sporadic, one-off events.

For someone in Wisconsin looking for regular practice, the advice remains to look toward Chicago or Minneapolis. The newly discovered AuthRev Community Map is a useful resource for this, though it currently lists no groups in Wisconsin. The local offerings are too sparse and irregular to rely on.

The last year#

The Wisconsin scene remains thin. The only new, verified activity is a weekly Authentic Relating Games Night at Madison's Main Street Yoga Center, which started in May 2025 and continues to be listed. The center also offers a 'Circling & Meditation' class, blending mindfulness with AR basics. Beyond this single venue, searches for groups in Milwaukee have turned up nothing but unrelated organizations, and a promising lead, "Madison CIRCLE," was confirmed to be a homeschool cooperative. An event called "OPEN: A Guided Experience In Authentic Relating" was discovered for late September 2026 in Madison, but its one-off nature suggests a pilot or pop-up, not a sustained offering.

In contrast, the Chicago market shows a more established, segmented ecosystem. Multiple organizers are active: Chicago Social Butterflies runs Queer Men's Authentic Relating Games, The Connection Movement hosts general "Connection Labs," and the "Authentic Chicago" Facebook group serves as a community hub. This demonstrates that demand exists in the region, but it's concentrated in the larger metro area, not spreading to Wisconsin's population centers.

New resources point to a network beyond these local beats. An "Authentic Relating Minneapolis" Facebook group and a "Tribe of One Love" weekly gathering in Minneapolis show an active scene in a neighboring state. Furthermore, Authentic Revolution's global community map provides a tool for finding groups, though it currently lists none in Wisconsin. These discoveries highlight that while the practice is alive in the upper Midwest, Wisconsin itself is an outlier of low activity.

For someone in Madison, the consistent weekly game at Main Street Yoga is the sole reliable, local point of entry. Everything else is either a one-off event, requires a trip to Chicago or Minneapolis, or exists only online. The last twelve months have not seen the launch of any new regular groups in the state. The evidence suggests the scene here is sustained by a single venue, not growing organically through new organizers or communities. If you're not near that yoga center, your practical options haven't expanded.

The ones that mattered:

• 2026-09-07 — Madison CIRCLE Co-op confirmed as a secular homeschool cooperative, unrelated to AR/Circling. (negative, secondary)
• 2026-09-07 — Searches for AR/Circling groups in Milwaukee return no relevant results. (negative, unverified)
• 2026-08-31 — Weekly Authentic Relating Games Night starts at Main Street Yoga Center in Madison. (launch, secondary)

All time#

The scene in Wisconsin is thin, with Madison holding the only confirmed, recurring in-person events. Main Street Yoga Center runs a weekly Authentic Relating Games Night and a separate Circling & Meditation session, blending mindfulness with AR basics. This is the sole stable anchor for the state. Milwaukee shows no active AR or Circling groups; searches return only unrelated organizations like a tourism board and a special needs charity. The recent discovery of "OPEN: A Guided Experience In Authentic Relating" in Madison suggests occasional one-off events beyond the weekly offering, but the overall local ecosystem is sparse.

Chicago, as a comparison market, shows a more developed structure. It has multiple organizers: Chicago Social Butterflies runs niche events like Queer Men's Authentic Relating Games, The Connection Movement hosts broader "Connection Labs," and the "Authentic Chicago" Facebook group acts as a community hub. This sets a clear ceiling for what an active scene looks like in the region.

Beyond these anchors, the map shows activity in neighboring Minneapolis with an active "Authentic Relating Minneapolis" Facebook group and the newly noted "Tribe of One Love" weekly gathering for authentic conversation. The global "AuthRev Community Map" exists as a resource, but it currently lists no Wisconsin groups, confirming the state's underrepresentation. A negative finding confirmed that "Madison CIRCLE" is a homeschool co-op, not a circling group, highlighting the noise in searching for these terms.

For someone in Wisconsin looking to participate, the path is narrow: attend the weekly games in Madison or travel to Chicago or Minneapolis. There is no evidence of a professionalized, multi-group scene or paid training infrastructure in the state. The recent discoveries are minor—a one-off event and a neighboring city's weekly meetup—and do not change the fundamental assessment that Wisconsin's scene is nascent and fragile.

Open questions#

Publishing what we don't know is the point. These are things the job is actively watching for; when one gets answered it becomes a changelog entry and moves down here to the answered list.

No open questions recorded. Either everything we wanted to know got answered, or nobody has written down what we don't know — the second is more likely on a young tracker.

Answered:

• What AR or Circling groups are currently active in Madison, WI, who facilitates them, and what is the cadence and cost? — answered 2026-08-31.
• What AR or Circling groups are currently active in Milwaukee, WI, who facilitates them, and what is the cadence and cost? — answered 2026-09-07.
• What does an established AR/Circling scene look like in Chicago — number of active groups, typical cadence, typical drop-in price — as a comparison point for the Wisconsin scene? — answered 2026-08-31.
